Creating Your Sacred Journey

Every week on her show, Super Soul Sunday, Oprah asks her guest, “What do you know for sure?” She’s asking what do you truly believe? Deep down what are the spiritual truths you live by.

When the disciples asked Jesus, “When will the Kingdom come,” he responded, “When the without shall become as the within.” In other words when we live from the inside out, and we become what we were meant to be, living, loving spiritual beings.

If we want life to show us something other than what we are experiencing, we must do something different; in spiritual language we must put a new cause into the universe. When we do, we can change how we view the world. We can release old patterns that no longer serve us, and replace them with principles that do. In a sense, we can release our old self and become a new person.

Recently, I read a story about a woman who dreams that if she goes to a certain spot near her home and digs she will find a treasure. So, the next day she goes and digs and digs. Around noon she takes a break and looks up at the sun and realizes the rays are directly over her head and pointing down on her. She quickly realizes she is the treasure. Most of us are not fortunate enough to have such a clear awakening to our own divinity. We need to work to know how precious we are. In my own life, I have found that the work I do to find my relationship with Spirit and my fellow travelers is the most important I can do. It leads me to a place of wisdom, peace, and freedom. What more could one ask for?
