Believe in Yourself

Recently a friend posted this on Facebook, “A bird sitting in a tree is never afraid of the branch breaking, because its trust is not in the branch, but in its own wings. Always believe in yourself.” From a spiritual perspective that is great advice. When we contemplate on the fact that we have the ability to team up with the power that created all that is, we should have great faith in our ability to overcome any challenge that life presents us. Ernest Holmes reminds us that the only limits on our demonstrations are our own belief. Spirit is always willing and certainly able to work in and thru us. All it takes is our receptivity.

Debbie Ford, wrote, “You have the power to make life altering decisions each day when you get out of bed. You have control of what you say to yourself when you look into the mirror.” You can tell yourself that you are a powerful manifester or a victim, which story sound better to you? We were put here with a purpose that purpose is to share our gift with the universe. We can’t do that if we play small and convince ourselves that we are weak and powerless.

It takes courage to step into our power, very often that means walking through fear. Jean Houston reminds us that in the Wizard of Oz the lion teaches us that courage is not synonymous with being fearless. The lion acts as though he is fearless, and he goes on. That is true courage. It is not always easy but it is always rewarding.
