Consider the Possibilities

There are countless choices we can make along our path. The universe is filled with possibilities. The only thing that stands between you and me and what is possible is ourselves, what we fear, what we believe, and what we tell ourselves. When we send ourselves positive messages the universe opens up for us. Ernest Holmes reminds us, “When you say all things are possible you mean that the power that created the planets is now operating in your affairs, in and through everything you do. Your faith provides a channel through which it may work. There is nothing the power cannot do for you if you learn how to use it. It is impossible for it to fail.” For me that is a very encouraging message.

In order to see what is possible we must have an open mind. It doesn’t matter what opportunities are available to us if we either do not see them or don’t believe we can achieve them. Sometimes it is a matter of making the decision to step beyond our comfort zone.  Years ago, I had come through a very difficult time and I was contemplating what to do next. One thought I continually had entertained was to move to California and get a fresh start in life. As much as I wanted it, I kept seeing roadblocks in my way. One night while speaking with a friend and telling her how much I wanted to move to California she asked me, “What’s really stopping you Ron?” In that moment I realized nothing was stopping me but me. Within three months I was living my dream and have never looked back. As long as we can imagine a possibility we can achieve it.

I have often thought that Jesus was a possibility person. He once said, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” In everything he did he saw possibilities. How else could he have turned water to wine unless he believed it was possible? How could he have told the man at the pool, “Pick up your mat and walk,” unless he saw a possibility? How could he have fed the masses unless he believed it was possible? When we open the door to possibility the door of the universe opens for us, and there are no limits to what we can accomplish.
