Going Deeper

As we move along in our life we live in our outer world, while we are spiritually called to live from our inner world, it’s not an easy thing to do. In other words we are being asked to live our life from the inside out. Ernest Holmes taught, “We must penetrate more deeply into our own nature.” He said when we do we will have a marvelous experience, and we, “Will find a depth to our self that we never realized we had.”

Michael Singer in his book, The Untethered Soul, writes that, “The word beyond captures the meaning of spirituality.” It takes us past where we already are. We move past limits and boundaries to a place of freedom. So, as usual we are at choice, we can choose to stay within our comfortable limits or move beyond them to live a more exciting and joy filled life.

Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel wrote, “In the eyes of the world I am average. But in my own heart I am of great moment. The challenge I face is how to actualize, how to concretize the quiet eminence of my being.” How can we bring forth the divine potential that lies within each of us? I think we need to make time to go into the silence to listen to that still small voice. When we allow our divine nature to move in and through us we are always led to a better place. In essence, we are touching our real self.  As Wilfred Peterson reminds us, “Explore your mind, discover yourself, and give the best that is in you to your age and your world. There are heroic possibilities waiting to be discovered in every person.”
